impress decor GmbH introduced itself this year for the first time at the design event “moodFORM” in Poland, which took place from 27th – 30th May 2010. With the innovative subsidiary projects “arena DESIGN” and “Top Design Awards 2010″ the exhibition set unique accents in terms of product design. Two decors created by impress (”Shimo Ash” and “Xysta”) were also selected by the panel of experts as candidates for the “Top Design Award 2010″.
The event was also distinguished by some first class speakers. Not only well-known names such as Professor Luigi Collani, but also Karim Rashid deserves a mention, who as a headliner gave an inspirational speech on the subject of design as an element of everyday life.
Impress Head of Decor Management Daniele Merla gave a talk at the event about the “Seven City Concept” and sources of inspiration in terms of the development of new decors which have their origins in the cultural, spiritual and aesthetic influences of different cities. Taking the example of Curitiba, an exotic city in European eyes, Merla presented impressions of different moods and unusual places which had inspired him and his team to create new decors with Brazilian influences (Amazonas, Shimo Ash and Olympia).
The artistic visualisation of the three steps of the creative process developed by “impress Design” was the leitmotif throughout and acted as a connection between information and functional modern art.
