WELCOME HOME – I’M PULSE - Experience the interior trends of tomorrow

The world we call our home, is full of impulses. The decor specialist impress will be attending the Interzum from 21 to 24 May 2019 in Cologne with an extraordinary trade fair presentation and its cutting-edge decors of their refined design concept "I'm Pulse". The focus: The very impulses that inspire and impress people, their unique experiences and their living creations.

Welcome Home! But what does our home look like today? The incentives, influences and inspirations we encounter every day are many and varied, shaped by contrasts that nonetheless are mutually dependent: Innovation and tradition, consumption and minimalism, speed and deceleration ... everyone is seeking out their own individual path.

Although we are all affected by the same impulses, everyone perceives them differently, feels them differently and processes them differently. "I'm Pulse" is therefore more than just a mere three words for impress. Because it is not only the impulses that impress designers interiorize and translate into modern decors. They are also impulses in their own right that influence the world around them. They provide fresh inspiration and in turn trigger new impulses. And not just that: It is not only the impulses that we receive and give. A "pulse" is life, the heartbeat that we sense and feel, which in turn can also be characterized by opposites – fast or slow, racing or calm.

Inspiration of Life

We live in metropolises, our homes are smart, digital and networked, we are mobile, flexible and prepared for anything at any time. But at the same, time we long for tranquility, time to breathe and see our home as a place to retreat, to pause – away from noise, hustle and bustle and constant accessibility. As contradictory as our lives may be, these contradictory impulses intensify current interior trends.

The freedom to create one's own world as one pleases, in which one feels at ease and at home, precisely this subjectivity is taken up by impress in its refined design concept "I'm Pulse". Our lifestyle and how we want to live is not shaped by one single trend, but by the individual synthesis of different design styles. Home thus takes on a different, very personal meaning for everyone.

Interior trends – individually shaped

The impress design experts draw valuable inspiration from the simple things and everyday experiences, from history, individual stories and the many other events the world has to offer. Here you will find the perfect mix of impulses to create unique designs and atmospheres. And yet everyone is inspired differently. This diversity is reflected in the authentic, contemporary impress decors for a modern interior design.

What inspires the trends, what defines the designs and decors, the living spaces of tomorrow, can be read in the new impress trend brochure. The brochure is supplemented by decor pattern cards, which are available for every decor presented at the trade fair. Visitors can put together and design their own personal decor fan according to their personal, unique needs and the impulses they receive, and take it home with them.

Feeling life

"If these old city walls could talk"

Influenced by the magic of old industrial cities, industrial style ties in with days gone by, brings discarded goods back to life - in an entirely new context. Dark, cool colors dominate as much as clear contrasts - hard and soft or cool and warm - the design is as old as it is contemporary. Worn and rustic surfaces are given a broader platform again - whether the cool concrete look of the Fresco decor, the vintage look of the Bairro Alto decor, the Samdal Oak wood decor with its rustic trendy look or the Graffiti decor, which discovers old materials for a brand-new purpose.

“Steel and fire. Things I admire”

Oxidized steel, brushed or flamed metals, carbonized woods or recycled materials stand for extravagant interiors in trendy industrial style. In times of increasing digitalization and growing urban anonymity, they embrace the longing for the original, the constant and the unadulterated. The decor Carbonized Wood, inspired by the old Japanese technique Shou Sugi Ban, sets special accents here. The Uranus decor is unmistakable, taking us with its steel surface and machining traces back to the factory halls of yesteryear. The Argento decor, on the other hand, refines any interior - in whatever combination it appears, whether with wood, stone or the same color.

"Nature is my living space"

The longing for nature and authenticity remains the biggest and most enduring interior trend. Natural, earthy and untreated materials lend a sense of comfort on the one hand, while on the other hand minimalism and reduction to the bare essentials reveal the urban touch. Be it the lightly planked Rockport Oak decor with its soft, finely drawn flowers and striking branches, the simple and restrained Mansion Oak decor with its particularly finely crafted details or the elegant Conwy Elm decor with its soft contours and bright colors, they all bring a natural flair to any metropolitan apartment.

"Luxury lives in the finer details"

Elegance and unobtrusive luxury in the comfort of your own home are embodied above all in the newly interpreted Mid-Century style. Its roots lie in the 30s to 70s of the last century. It is characterized by timeless beauty paired with high-quality details of marble, elegant woods and precious metals. The Emperador Dark decor, equally unusual and decorative, embodies this interior trend in a very special way, as does the Saturnia Walnut decor, which exemplifies the exclusive, modern interior style inspired by modern Italian design.

Decors – from impulse to application

The interior trends can be experienced on the over 400 square meter large and partly two-floor stand B060/C069 in Hall 6.1. Individually and in combination, whether as wall design, finished furniture or floor covering, in the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, bedroom, study, teenager's room, dressing room or wardrobe: impress presents its current decors in a replicated interior - from the first impulse to its development and application. The decor specialist therefore provides a variety of impulses, particularly when it comes to new design concepts in furniture production and interior design.

Whether on its own, on large surfaces or in combination with wood and paint, the "Fresco" decor has an authentic effect thanks to its discreet concrete look and fits perfectly into any interior.

The marks of bygone times make "Bairro Alto" a decor full of character and unadulterated, which goes particularly well with clear forms and metal.

With its individually worn and decoratively aged oak planks, the "Samdal Oak" decor is ideal for furniture with a rustic but young and trendy look inspired by the new industrial style.

The diverse shades of grey and scribbles of geometric forms give the "Graffiti" decor a lively and fresh appearance. It goes particularly well with oak, but also with metal and concrete structures.

Inspired by the Japanese technique Shou Sugi Ban, the decor "Carbonized Wood" has this characteristic dark grey to black colour and looks particularly realistic due to the fine worked details.

The steel surface, the dark color and the marks of processing lend the decor "Uranus" a very special industrial flair and thus accentuate the urban accents in every interior.

The fine lines and the brushed surface give the "Argento" decor its very own look. It thus sets special accents in the interior - whether in combination with wood or stone.

The slightly planked visual appearance, the softly and fine drawn cathedrals and the striking knots make "Rockport Oak" a thoroughly natural decor.

Due to the beautifully distributed knots and growth characteristics and the realistic three-dimensional effect, the "Mansion Oak" decor looks very authentic and pure.

The generous layout, the fine worked details and the rich play of colors make the "Conwy Elm" decor look fresh and stand for serenity and relaxation.

The crystalline structure, the detailed drawing and the subtle play of colors lend "Emperador Dark" depth and authenticity and make it a characterful and noble decor.

The detailed drawing, the narrow cathedrals and striped areas of the "Saturnia Walnut" decor, together with the beautiful play of colors, create an extremely noble overall impression.

The extraordinary grain gives the decor "Adrano Walnut" an exotic and elegant character.

A balanced play of colours with subtle, small inclusions and knots perfectly accentuates the authentic and original look of the "Stanley Hickory" decor and gives the room a natural spirit.

With its generous cathedrals and elegant linear areas, the "Brisbane Acacia" decor impressively captures the themes of innovation, speed and flexibility of the urban trend.

The contrasting difference between the clear lines and the calm surfaces make "Pietra Grey" an unmistakable decor. It is therefore also the right decor for clear forms and designs.
