Green Side Up – 13 Years of Growing Forests Together
Since 2013, every spring, employees of Impress Decor Poland—accompanied by their families and friends—have gathered to take part in something that has become much more than just an annual event: planting forests, promoting environmental awareness, and spending meaningful time together in nature. This long-standing volunteer initiative is a cornerstone of our company’s commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
How did it all begin?
The idea took root in 2013 in the Przykopka Forest District. What started as a small, grassroots initiative—fueled by a desire to positively impact the environment and inspire the younger generation—quickly grew into a cherished tradition. With each passing year, more people joined in, and today, it’s an event marked on many calendars as a special family day, full of purpose and connection.
Why do we do it?
We believe that small actions can lead to meaningful change, and that’s why this project matters to us on many levels:
- For nature: Every tree we plant helps clean the air, stabilize the soil, and create habitats for birds, insects, and other wildlife. It’s a direct, visible way to contribute to the health of our planet.
- For people: The act of planting together in the open air fosters connection, teamwork, and community spirit. It’s an opportunity to unwind, have fun, and share stories across generations
- For the future: By involving children and young people, we’re planting more than trees—we’re planting seeds of ecological awareness that will shape the thinking and actions of future generations.
The impact over the years:
- Nearly 10,000 trees planted: A testament to our consistent commitment and growing community of volunteers.
- Strong partnership with Ełk Forest District: This collaboration ensures that our actions align with long-term forest management strategies and that our efforts translate into sustainable outcomes.
- Dozens of families, year after year: Every edition brings together familiar faces and newcomers, each leaving with muddy boots, smiling faces, and lasting memories.
As our coordinators often say, "Planting a forest is more than just a volunteer act—it’s our way of responding to climate change, of giving something back to the Earth, and showing that collective effort can lead to real, measurable progress."
Looking ahead
We’re already looking forward to the next edition in 2026. Whether you’ve joined us before or are considering it for the first time, we warmly invite you to take part. Just bring comfortable shoes, a positive spirit, and your willingness to get your hands dirty for a good cause.
Let’s continue to grow something beautiful—together. For us, for nature, and for the generations yet to come.
