Horizon Unveiled: Highlights from the Color of the Year 2026 Event

On the evening of October 23rd, Impress Decor revealed its Color of the Year 2026: Horizon, in an event that blended design, emotion, and sensorial immersion. Hosted at the newly inaugurated Design Center, the celebration marked a milestone for the company: for the first time, the color was created through a global collaborative process, bringing together designers from every country where Impress operates.

Horizon emerges from a worldwide listening journey — a transformation of research into emotion and material into meaning. Balanced between green and blue, the tone embodies movement and depth while remaining grounded in what truly matters. It is a threshold color, positioned between the natural and the technological, the human and the mineral — a point where the real meets the imaginary. This duality guided both its creation and its unveiling, capturing a world in transformation and the desire for new equilibrium.

The event began with a warm welcome from Jessica Hori, Product & Marketing Manager at Impress Brazil, and Marciel Nogaroto, General Director. Guests then joined a talk by designer and architect Rodrigo Ohtake, titled “Legacy and Color in Architecture and Design.” Ohtake explored how color influences spaces, memories, and the emotional dimension of design, presenting iconic projects from his studio and from around the world. “Architecture must bring poetry into our daily lives, and color plays a fundamental role in this goal,” he noted.

A video featuring testimonials from the global design team followed, highlighting the reflections, inspirations, and cultural perspectives that shaped Horizon. Each voice reinforced the collaborative essence behind the color — a shared desire to understand the present and envision the future.

The unveiling culminated with a concept film transitioning from black and white to Horizon, setting the tone for a sensorial experience. As the space opened into a monochromatic installation, guests immersed themselves in an atmosphere that captured the essence of the color — a feeling of crossing, confidence, serenity, and transformation. The moment reinforced Horizon as a hue that reflects our current times and the collective desire for reconnection.

The night ended with a cocktail reception and DJ set, leaving guests with a shared sense of enchantment. Horizon proved to be more than a trend: it became a reflection on time and an invitation to reconnect with what truly matters.
