NYRIA, Impress Color of the Year 2025, is unveiled at exclusive event
November 6 was truly a memorable night in Curitiba as Impress Decor chose an iconic address to reveal its Color of the Year 2025. The event was held at Ópera Arte, and a series of activities were carefully planned to engage members of the public and deepen their understanding of the role that colors play in everyday life and the construction of a unique Brazilian visual identity.
The evening kicked off with a special presentation from Impress Decor's design and marketing team led by product manager Jessica Hori. Jessica highlighted the importance of collaborative work between teams and Impress’s commitment to capturing trends and transforming them into visual experiences that connect the brand to new audiences in a unique way. Next, Jessica introduced guest speaker Ana Kreutzer, an expert on the influence of colors, who offered a comprehensive perspective on the history and impact of colors in our daily lives.
Ana Kreutzer began her talk, entitled “The Sense of Color,” by addressing the profound influence that colors have on everyday life, in shaping environments and affecting our emotions, often even in unconsciously. Ana explored the development of color perception throughout history, explaining how the Brazilian palette has its own complex identity. At a key point in the presentation, Ana emphasized that despite Brazil's vibrant image on the world stage, the use of color in Brazilian homes was undergoing an erasure period due to the influenced by a more neutral foreign aesthetic that has guided the interior design scene for decades. It is only recently that Brazil has begun to recover its roots and embrace its genuine color culture, placing value in tones that refer to our ancestry and express our unique cultural authenticity.
After Ana Kreutzer's lecture, the event was given a special artistic and symbolic touch with a performance from the dancers Rodrigo Castelo Branco and Clarissa Capellari from the Teatro Guaíra Ballet in Curitiba. Through choreography that was carefully designed to evoke a sense of duality, the constant transformations in our daily lives and our search for tranquility, the dance performance offered guests a mesmerizing sensory experience that culminated in the new Color of the Year, NYRIA, finally being revealed. Once the performance ended, NYRIA was announced as the Color of 2025, a symbol of the meeting point between the fast pace of modern life and our desire for stability. NYRIA was inspired by the contemporary search for refuge and serenity in times of uncertainty. The color brings together tones that encourage us to reflect on our roots and promote a sense of fluidity while representing a quintessential balance between agitation and a calming influence. This choice reflects our desire for a welcoming and regenerative environment, one that connects us to a holistic approach to well-being.
Marciel Nogaroto, General Manager of Impress Decor Brasil, ended the evening off by sharing his thoughts on the meaning behind NYRIA and the impact of this choice on Impress’s general brand vision. During his speech, Marciel emphasized that NYRIA is not only a design trend, but also a response to human needs and a movement towards appreciating a Brazilian cultural identity that is able to reconnect to its roots. In Marciel’s view, NYRIA symbolizes a milestone for Impress Decor, one that reaffirms its commitment to offering solutions that resonate with global trends without abandoning Brazil’s distinct essence.
The event left guests inspired and encourages them to appreciate the value of colors as elements of personal and cultural expression. NYRIA is therefore a reflection of contemporary culture and aspirations from a uniquely Brazilian perspective. With this launch, Impress Decor is celebrating a sense of renewal and the potential of colors to transform environments. NYRIA is sure to open a new chapter in the company’s history in which creativity, tradition and innovation come together to inspire the future.
